Kyokushin karate – Junior Course

Kyokushin Karate is known for its power, discipline, and relentless training. On the junior course, training is carried out fully on the children’s terms: safely, encouragingly, and with their age level taken into account. The most important thing is not performance, but the joy of movement, learning new things, and doing things together.

Sisu-Kyokushin ry is organising a junior course for the first time in autumn 2026. The junior course is aimed at children aged 5–10 and their parents. A child can participate in the training independently or together with their parents. Parents are welcome to join the training free of charge!

In the training sessions, children learn the basics of Kyokushin Karate through play, movement, and a variety of exercises. At the same time, they develop motor skills, balance, concentration, courage, and the ability to work together with others.

Who is the course suitable for?

  • For children aged 5–10
  • For parents who want to train together with their child
  • For those interested in physical activity and learning new skills
  • For everyone, regardless of previous physical activity background

What do we do in the training sessions?

  • Basic techniques of Kyokushin Karate: punches, kicks, and blocks
  • Exercises that develop balance and coordination
  • Playful movement exercises
  • Partner and group exercises
  • Concentration, listening, and consideration for others
  • First steps in kata, meaning prearranged sequences of movements

Why Kyokushin?

In addition to physical skills, Kyokushin also develops perseverance, self-confidence, and team spirit. In training, children learn to respect others, do their best, and work as part of a group.

Although Kyokushin is known as a full-contact martial art, children’s training focuses on safe and age-appropriate activities. The training sessions are structured so that every child can succeed at their own level.

Course content

Injuries requiring medical treatment are not common, but they can still occur, as in any physical activity.

World Zen-kyokyshin

Kyokushin Karate offers children a safe environment to move, learn new skills, experience success, and make new friends.

Registering for the junior course does not commit you to anything! You are welcome to try the training for a couple of weeks and attend several sessions before deciding whether you would like to continue.

You also do not have to join on the official starting date. New participants can still join during the first couple of weeks after the course begins.

We warmly welcome children and parents to join the junior course!
